Man critically wounded in Englewood shooting
<p>A 31-year-old man has been hospitalized in critical condition after he suffered a gunshot wound to the back early Monday, Chicago police said.</p><p>The man was outside along the 5800 block of South Hermitage Avenue when an unknown gunman approached him and opened fire, police said.</p><p>The victim was taken to University of Chicago Hospital, where he was listed in critical condition as of 11 a.m., according to police.</p><p>The assailant fled southbound on foot. No other injuries were reported, police said.</p><p>Area One detectives are investigating.</p>
