<p>The city is banning e-scooters from a busy Edgewater road to reduce the number of people riding on sidewalks.</p><p>Geofencing restrictions went into effect to prevent GPS-tracked Divvy and Lime e-scooters from riding on Sheridan Road and its sidewalks from Bryn Mawr to Devon avenues, local Ald. Leni Manaa-Hoppenworth (48th) announced last week.</p><p>The city says it expanded an existing no-scooter zone on the Lakefront Trail to include a 1-mile stretch of Sheridan Road connecting the neighborhood to Lake Shore Drive.</p><p>Any Lime or Divvy scooter riding on that section of road or sidewalk will automatically stop once GPS has detected the location.
