Mailson Araújo, 35, fell ill at home in Alagoinhas, Brazil, late Monday, days before this weekend’s Musclecontest – an event some athletes use as a stepping stone for the prestigious Mr Olympia event later in the year, Globo reported.

Mailson Araújo, 35, fell ill at home in Alagoinhas, Brazil, late Monday, days before this weekend’s Musclecontest – an event some athletes use as a stepping stone for the prestigious Mr Olympia event later in the year, Globo reported. The muscleman couldn’t be saved after collapsing – despite the best efforts of his mom, who is a nurse, as well as first responders who rushed to the scene. Araújo was pronounced dead but the cause has yet to be released.
