Skagit Valley’s original organic farms changed the food system. Now what?
Skagit Valley was home to some of the first organic farms in the United States. Those farms showed that food could be grown without synthetic chemicals and changed how many people eat. Today, the original farmers, including Anne Schwartz, are teaching younger growers how to continue organic farming. They want to pass on their knowledge so the organic movement can keep growing.
